As I was getting ready to post this pattern I started looking back to see when my last pattern release was…it has been over a year. So that begs the question, what on earth have I been doing for the last year? I had a baby, which is the best excuse…right? Anyway, I am finally back to it.

So with no further delay here is my newest knitting pattern…the Abigail Hood. This adorable hood feels as though it has jumped from the page of your favorite Austen classic. It fits comfortably over long hair or short and covers the ears for a little extra warmth. The loose construction of the body of the hat allows air flow for warmer weather. Enjoy the larger size for a looser look or the medium for the more fitted feel.

NOTE ON YARN: These hats were all knit up in Malabrigo Twist. This yarn is AMAZING! I absolutely love it. It is 8ply, heavy worsted, 100% marino wool. Basically incredibly soft and squishy and it stretches beautifully. You can use another heavy worsted or aran weight yarn but to achieve the closest look to the pictures, pick up a skein of Malabrigo Twist at your friendly local yarn shop. Colorways pictured are Applewood, zinc, and purple mystery.

There are three sizes included in this pattern.

Large: fits a regular adult head

Medium: fits a child/ teen/ small adult

Small: fits a baby/ toddler/ small child

Tie to the Side https://elisajoy.com/design/2010/08/tie-to-the-side/ https://elisajoy.com/design/2010/08/tie-to-the-side/#respond Mon, 16 Aug 2010 20:23:19 +0000 https://elisajoy.com/mclaughlindesigns/?p=74 Wish I had thought of this on my own but my sister Keeley thought of it first. She picked up the hat and put the tie to the side. I had so many people ask me about the hat she was wearing. With the tie to the side it is definitely an eye catcher. I am going to be selling the finished product of this hat if I can ever finish the custom orders that have been pouring in. If you are interested comment or send me message through etsy and I can figure something out for you.

Malabrigo! https://elisajoy.com/design/2010/07/malabrigo/ https://elisajoy.com/design/2010/07/malabrigo/#respond Thu, 29 Jul 2010 16:59:23 +0000 https://elisajoy.com/mclaughlindesigns/?p=43 So I knit up the amazon stripe beanie that is being test knit in some Malabrigo Worsted. The first two pictures are in Apple Cinnamon and the gray is Frost Gray. I love the colorways of Malabrigo and I adore the softness! It is so fun to knit with. Like many other things I will probably go out and buy every color I love and never actually knit my way through my collection. Here are the pics. The test process is going well soon I will be able to get that pattern up in my Etsy store!

I will have more pictures of the finished frost gray hat soon. I am thinking of selling the finished product in my etsy store so if you are interested let me know!
