I have had so much fun re-connecting with my best friend and younger sister Natalie Emmons. She has been in Osaka, Japan for the last year performing at Universal Studios Japan, also she has been pursuing a music career. Here it is! The new pattern I have been keeping a secret from my two readers I have so enjoyed this process it has been a wonderful experience but it feels good to have the patten up for sale finally. Thank you to all my test knitters. I will be sending something new your way soon! This was inspired by the scarf headwraps that are popular now. I wanted to create something that was similar to fabric but was knitted. I also love lace and the combination turned out to be a lot of fun!

3-6 Month Baby Helmet

Here is my first free pattern posted to my blog. It is simple but also cute. I knit this up in some extra Malabrigo Worsted that I had laying around. The colorway is Lettuce and I adore this color for babies. Boy or girl it looks great. So far I have only figured out the patten for 3-6months but I will post more sizes later. Supplies Needed:

Materials Needed:

5 size 7 DP needles
Malabrigo Yarn 65 yards
stitch marker

Abbreviations:

K – Knit
P – Purl
CO – Cast On
K2tog – knit two stitches together to decrease
R – Round

CO 60 stitches connect to knit in the round

R1: (K,P)* repeat to end of round
R2: (P,K)* repeat to end of round
knit for 22 rounds (or for approximately three and a half inches)
R25: (K8, K2tog)*
R26: knit
R27: (K7, K2tog)*
R28: knit
R29: (K6, K2tog)*
R30: knit
R31: (K5, K2tog)*
R32: knit
R33: (K4, K2tog)*
R34: knit
R35: (K3, K2tog)*
R36: (K2, K2tog)*
R37: (K2tog)*
R38: (K2tog)*
Run yarn through all the loops and tie off.

Anthropologie-ish Flower Headband

This pattern was inspired by the headbands carried at Anthro and other boutiques this last spring. I didn’t like the acrylic or cotton option (made in China) and I wanted something I could knit up myself. So I wrote a pattern for one that is not the same but similar. I created a slightly larger more irregular flower because I like irregular/non-standard things. The headband is slightly thicker and is knit with two strands together as one. I need to get some updated pictures this was right after I had my twins so not the best shot of me. If you are interested in purchasing my pattern there is that option at the bottom of the post. My newest pattern is almost finished. It will be for both handspun yarn and regular worsted weight yarn. I used Malabrigo and can I just say it is the most fantastic yarn ever! It is incredibly soft and the colors are wonderful! I made both a light salmon-ish colored one and a gray one. This hat is incredibly comfortable I would wear it every day if it weren’t 85 degrees outside. However when winter rolls around I will be wearing it lots. Here is the hand spun version. This was my first knit of the pattern so the next few will look different. It is in the test knitting process and then it will be ready to sell in my etsy store. I also have a free pattern I will be posting to this blog as soon as I can get photos of it. Thanks for stopping by!
