Try folding one side down part way first, sliding the feather in, then finishing smashing the feather. Also because of the shape of the stem the feather can turn to the side which makes it a bit awkward. I smashed the stem of the feather with pliers when this happened so it would lay flat. I hope that answers your question!

I couldn’t keep the feather in place while I folded it and the way the stem? of the feather wasn’t completely flat made it hard to fold in the first place.
I don’t know. I’m going to keep trying. Like I said, this is my first time ever doing it so I’m sure it just takes practice.
Any suggestions?
