HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year (a day late)! I have been taking a bit of a creative break. Not a break from being creative but a short pause to allow my self to create. I will be releasing a few in January so if you want to receive a notification e-mail be sure to add yourself to my list. Also don’t forget to link to your projects on Ravelry or on your blogs, this will give you a chance to win a free Amazon Stripe Beanie pattern and also a skein of Malabrigo yarn. You can see…

Merry Christmas!
I managed to snap this photo of my daughter, Fiona, in front of the Christmas tree wearing a headband I am working on. I might just let her keep it! Maybe this pattern will be sized for mother and daughter. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. I will try to get pictures of the snow to post at a later time. Now for relaxing and enjoying my family…and maybe some Pumpkin Pancakes…yum!

Last Minute Christmas
I have been frantically knitting up custom orders and have put off my own Christmas shopping and knitting. I found a necklace a while back that has received so many compliments I decided to buy a few more for gifts. I got a better deal with buying 8 instead of one or two. So…I decided to offer them on my blog just in case someone wanted a last minute unique gift. If you are interested e-mail me at mclaughlindesigns@elisajoy.com and I will set up a reserved listing on Etsy. Shipping will depend on where you live but it shouldn’t be more than $5.00 or so. Strictly Knit Flower Headband Earwarmer
Introducing the fully knit version of my most popular pattern. The ruffle flower gives this trendy knit a BOHO feel. The pattern is versatile and includes directions for a larger flower. Being a mom with long hair (I have come to understand why this is a rare thing), I am always looking for options that let me wear my hair up while keeping my ears warm. Can I just say how thankful I am that head wraps, headbands, and ear warmers are IN! I have a few more in the mix so keep your eye out. BUY NOW. No account required.

Knitting and Other Stuff
So it is our first Christmas staying at home which means I get to REALLY decorate! I got these amazing ornaments at JoAnn’s for 50% off. They look like murcury glass. Then this wonderful woman named Maggie crocheted these beautiful snowflakes. She was selling them for a ridiculously low price and I wish I had bought more. She wasn’t willing to take more money for them because she just enjoyes making them. Each one is unique but I only grabbed a picture of a couple. I will post more pictures as I get more decorations up. I recently ordered two skeins from SkeinYarns I waited a little while to get them because they were shipped…

Abbreviations
So I have been meaning to post this link for a while. When I use the abbreviation M1 it can mean many different things. Here is a link in case you are wondering how I do my M1 for my different patterns. Flower Headband Ear-warmer, Yummy Beret, Amazon Stripe – M1: I used loop cast on (in the middle of my work instead of at the edge) Britta Lalena (Lacy) Headwrap – M1: I used the Left Increase. On the last stitch I grab the loop from below but it is kind of tricky as it is on the edge. Another option if you cannot figure this out is to Right…

Thanksgiving and More
Happy Thanksgiving! I know it is several days late but I was not at home. I visited my parents in San Diego and got to work at their coffee shop. I have missed working in a shop environment. Also all the girls who work in the shop are wearing either my flower headband ear warmers or the Britta Lalena headwrap. They look amazing in them OF COURSE! So now that I am home I have been working on the STRICTLY KNIT Flower Headband Earwarmer. I tried to get some better photos outside but because of the two feet of snow it was a little difficult photographing myself. I had to…

Better Picture
So this is a better picture of my latte art. I am getting a little more practice time while at my parents. I will post some pictures of what I have been working on soon! This is a picture of my favorite drink. Lightly sweetened (with Agave) wet cappuccino.

Snow and Latte Art
So I woke up this morning to an inch of snow on the ground and a steady amount of it falling out of the sky. It is beautiful, though it complicates travel plans for Thanksgiving. We are supposed to get a foot and a half by Monday. So to lift my spirits and help me with my packing I made myself a cappuccino. I have been working on perfecting latte art for a while now. Though this may not be the best example of it if you live next to a third wave coffee shop it is closer than I was a few years ago. Also I got a new…
