Photo Shoot
So I am not the biggest fan of using myself as a model. It is definitely convenient because I can hop outside and snap a few shots of myself during nap time, but then I have to process photos of myself. I think everyone is more critical of themselves in photos than others. So….I got some friends to pose with my hats on and my husband took pictures of them. Here is one photo, yes I am in it, of two hat patterns. The one on the left is “amazon stripe” the one on the right “yummy beret.” I loved the final look of this photo. I can’t get enough…

Maui!
Finally got a break from my three beautiful but very busy little ones. Having three under three is exhausting. Especially while trying to design knitting patterns. I have been in Maui for a few days and have so enjoyed the chance to relax and be inspired. My next project is an island inspired head-wear piece. I am trying to decide weather to release it myself or submit it somewhere. If I am going to release it myself you should see photos soon. Aloha!

Tie to the Side
Wish I had thought of this on my own but my sister Keeley thought of it first. She picked up the hat and put the tie to the side. I had so many people ask me about the hat she was wearing. With the tie to the side it is definitely an eye catcher. I am going to be selling the finished product of this hat if I can ever finish the custom orders that have been pouring in. If you are interested comment or send me message through etsy and I can figure something out for you.

Small Comforts
I cannot explain how but warm drinks are inexorably linked to knitting in my mind. The perfection of the coziness of the drink being paired paired with the fuzziness of the project perhaps. I adore coffee as all my friends know and particularly love a cappuccino in the morning…erm…and afternoon. Here is a picture of my late morning cappuccino and a little something I have been working on. I snapped this image in the short window of time while my children were napping. As soon as I tuck them in I snatch up my latest project, pop in a film, and collapse on the couch to make something new. Check…

For Sale!
My new hat pattern is now for sale on my etsy store and on ravelry. Check it out if you get a moment! If you would like to buy a finished hat I sell those as well so just send me an e-mail or post a comment to my blog. I knit them up in Malabrigo which is the yarn I used to create the pattern (non hand spun version). This was my first time working with Malabrigo worsted and let me tell you it is the softest yarn I have found yet! The colors are inspiring and I will be knitting up several hats in the different colorways. ENJOY!…

Anthropologie-ish Flower Headband
This pattern was inspired by the headbands carried at Anthro and other boutiques this last spring. I didn’t like the acrylic or cotton option (made in China) and I wanted something I could knit up myself. So I wrote a pattern for one that is not the same but similar. I created a slightly larger more irregular flower because I like irregular/non-standard things. The headband is slightly thicker and is knit with two strands together as one. I need to get some updated pictures this was right after I had my twins so not the best shot of me. If you are interested in purchasing my pattern there is that…

Malabrigo!
So I knit up the amazon stripe beanie that is being test knit in some Malabrigo Worsted. The first two pictures are in Apple Cinnamon and the gray is Frost Gray. I love the colorways of Malabrigo and I adore the softness! It is so fun to knit with. Like many other things I will probably go out and buy every color I love and never actually knit my way through my collection. Here are the pics. The test process is going well soon I will be able to get that pattern up in my Etsy store! I will have more pictures of the finished frost gray hat soon. I…

Pattern Preview
My newest pattern is almost finished. It will be for both handspun yarn and regular worsted weight yarn. I used Malabrigo and can I just say it is the most fantastic yarn ever! It is incredibly soft and the colors are wonderful! I made both a light salmon-ish colored one and a gray one. This hat is incredibly comfortable I would wear it every day if it weren’t 85 degrees outside. However when winter rolls around I will be wearing it lots. Here is the hand spun version. This was my first knit of the pattern so the next few will look different. It is in the test knitting process…
