DIY: Feather Extensions
So the long awaited post is here! Time to “Do it Yourself!” No need to pay the steep prices for getting feather extensions in. Feather extensions can be washed curled and flat ironed. Just do whatever you already do with your hair they are very easy and fun. They can last up to six weeks. This tutorial will show you how to do it yourself. Have fun! Materials Needed:1. Jewelry Pliars (the kind with the teeth are best because you can use them to take the feather extensions out once you are done with them.) 2. Micro Crimp Bead (the pictured clip has silicone in the center, this helps it…

Update…
What have I been doing? I looked today and noticed that my blog posts have become far and few between. The reason for that is the sun has finally come out and I have been able to leave the state of mild depression and escape into sunshine. I am taking lots of long walks with my kids in the triple wide stroller. I have not ceased my knitting and pattern designing. I have just slowed down. It has been a good break and I think I need to soak up the sun and inspiration for a time before I can start creating again. Also I have been very busy creating…

Knitting Needle Organizer
So for most of my time knitting and crocheting this is how I have stored my needles. Pretty to look at, but not so wonderful when trying to find the specific needle or crochet hook. I did a little research on Etsy and found a wonderful shop. The woman hand sews knitting needle organizers, crochet hook organizers, and project bags. She is wonderful to work with. When I saw her work I asked for a specific fabric pattern and she went out that night and found exactly what I wanted. I LOVE having my needles organized. Just wanted to share in case anyone is in the market for an organizer…

DIY: Tree Jewelry Hanger
So this is my second DIY. I had been meaning to find a solution to storing my jewelry. Jumbling everything in a bowl just wasn’t working for me. I had seen someone use a manzanita branch as a place to hang jewelry. I didn’t have the time to go out and find the perfect manzanita branch. I just trimmed a few branches out of my back yard. You can use branches from Trader Joe’s or any other grocery store floral section. Spring is the perfect time to find them. So here’s how you make a Tree Jewelry Hanger: 1. Find some supple but strong branches with lots of smaller branches…

Full Frame Goodness!
So my husband and I recently decided we wanted to move up from a cropped frame sensor camera Canon 20D, to a full frame camera Canon 5D Mark I. This may not make a lot of sense to most of my readers. It basically means that I now can get more out of all the lenses I already have. I LOVE my new camera. I can’t wait to experiment with all the possibilities that come with it. Here are some photos taken with the Mark I. I have fallen back in love with crochet. I love knowing both how to knit and crochet. The last year I have focused completely…

Pretty
Due to the snow…that just keeps coming. And spring which seems to be hybernating a little longer than usual this year. I did a photo shoot inside my house featuring some of the things that I love. I tried to be creative. I find I am still learning a lot about photography and how I can grow. This was one of those learning experiences. Even though I am not completely satisfied with the outcome of the project I thought I would post a few images anyway. White Peacock Feathers Notions…lace, ball fringe, and more lace… PALM Fashion Magazine. I finally managed to get a couple sent to me from Japan.…
